Sony introduces the first 4K consumer camera- Sony FDR-AX100

Sony introduces the first 4K consumer camera- Sony FDR-AX100

Videoing and sharing your hunts in 4K just got easier – The Sony FDR-AX100 is not only smaller and lighter than its bigger brothers, it's also more budget-friendly. "4K for $2K." When you stack up the AX100's full 1" Exmor R CMOS sensor able of capturing cinematic images with a shallow depth-of-field (blurry background) to other handycams they just don't stand a chance. Not to mention the capability of filming super slow-motion at 120fps. This little powerhouse is definitely putting 4K power into the hands of consumers.
For long hunts, the Sony FDR-AX100 includes a 2 to 3 hour battery. Recording in 4K just got easier by keeping the same media that we all love. With all that information that is being recorded with 4K, you will definitely need at least a 64GB Class 10 SDHD card! And, through in a couple of extra NP-FV70 batteries, you'll have plenty of power to film that recovery after dark!
The Sony FRD-AX1 has a 12x optical zoom that will bring that buck in close, and with the superb optical quality of Sony's lens, he'll look just as good 200 yards out as he will on your wall. Along with its bigger brother, the Sony FDR-AX100 features a manual focus wheel that allows you to manually focus on the buck and not the annoying tree limbs in front! Also, now you have the option to change the function of the wheel from controlling your focus to controlling your zoom. Threads around the lens of the camera allow you to easily extend your zoom capabilities with the addition of a telephoto lens. Don't forget to screw on a UV Filter to protect your lens from scratches and dirt!
This camera features Sony's first 1.0" Exmor R CMOS sensor that is great for shooting in dimly lit environments. And with the Optical SteadyShot Image Stabilization, no one will never know how much you were shaking when you released your bow! But if you really need proof, how about slowing down that shot by filming that shot at 120fps. To cut down on movement, you can connect your smartphone via Wi-Fi for one-touch remote control and one-touch sharing.
4K Video allows you more room to adjust the video in post production, but if that's not your thing you can still record MP4 60p Full HD movies that are ideal for sharing over the web. Shoot in Native 24p 4K Mode to give your videos a film-like feel, making it look as if it were shot the same way as your favorite movie! And, with the 1" Exmore R CMOS Sensor , the FX100 gives you the opportunity to shoot spectacular shots with the dramatic look of shallow depth-of-field (subject in focus, background blurred). Not to mention the 3 built-in ND Filters.
Designed with outdoor videographers in mind, the camcorder also comes with a high quality microphone input. This connection makes it possible to get even better audio with the Rode VideoMic shotgun microphone mounted to the camera. And, if you plug in a good set of headphones, you may even hear that bruiser coming before you see him!
After the hunt's over, insert your SDHC card into your computer. A little basic editing with a user-friendly software and you're ready to show the world through Facebook, Youtube, or even DVD. Recording and sharing your adventures has never been easier!
