From the beginning this set out to be a tough conditions due to the weather. The first day of the challenge the temperature rose to 78º and the deer were not moving. There were some nice bucks that were captured by the Teams but no videoed hunts were submitted for scoring.
On Tuesday the weather took a turn for the worst– In the eight year history of the Campbell Outdoor Challenge we have never had to cancel a morning hunt due to weather. A 2,000 mile-wide storm with category 3 hurricane winds hit the midwest on Tuesday, October 26, sparking Tornado and T-storm watches all over the area. Due to the storm, the teams were allowed to see their secondary area at 9am instead of 12 noon. From this point on the teams are now allowed to submit a videoed Buck hunt and/or Doe hunt for scoring.
The teams should have seen a lot of actions Wed. morning due to the temperature drop to 38º. As of now, no successful hunts have been submitted for scoring. I guess thats why they call this a challenge!
